Loan Operations Specialist (The Woodlands)

Description: Responsible for responding to customer inquiries in a timely and efficient manner, performing research as necessary to maintain an accurate customer loan history and for maintaining customer loan records as outlined by Bank guidelines. Responsible for processing routine payments and advances to ensure proper loan accounting for individual customer transactions.
Duties: Performs the financial tracking process of all coming due, missing, or incomplete items on Borrowers.Reviews and processes loan packages for funding.

Receives and reviews borrowing base certifications and confirms compliance with loan covenants prior to making loan advances.

Prepares consumer, commercial, and real estate loan documentation following underwriting guidelines and policies.

Enters loan information into computer database or log

Prepares and maintains collateral files.

Prepares and maintains credit files.

Mails credit denials to customers.

Maintains logs of loan denials and loans withdrawn.

Funds draw requests based on the review of Borrower’s request, invoice back-up, construction progress reports, availability, and adherence to loan covenants

Prepares timely and accurate reports to upper management.

Records and releases liens.

Processes payments and advance requests.

Processes credit inquiries and runs credit reports.

Answers telephone and written inquiries.

Participates in cross-training duties with other department positions.

Handles information with strict confidentiality.

Participates in special projects and handles other duties as assigned, as well as fills in as required at various workstations.

Qualifications: Qualifications:

Five years experience and/or training with loan documentation, compliance, and credit operations in a commercial bank strongly preferred; High school degree or equivalent required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Jack Henry systems preferred.
